New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi, which forms the national capital of the vast country India, will be under complete curfew from tonight till next Monday morning amid the massive spike in Covid-19 cases.

Delhi was already under a weekend curfew which was called to stem the Covid-19 spread.

On Sunday, Delhi reported the biggest single-day spike of over 25,000 fresh infections at a time the country is reeling under the threat from the deadly virus.

Revealing a grim situation, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said less than 100 ICU beds are available in hospitals.

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister has sought a reservation of 7,000 hospital beds for Covid-19 and oxygen supply.

The country on Monday reported 2,73,810 new cases,  at a time hospitals in various India states are getting overwhelmed with Covid-19 patients.

During the same period, 1,619 people died due to the deadly virus.
