Delhi LG terminates services of 400 people engaged by AAP govt

New Delhi/IBNS/UNI: Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Monday terminated the services of 400 people engaged by the Arvind Kejriwal government by allegedly flouting the constitutional provisions of reservation.

The terminated employees were engaged in 23 departments, autonomous bodies, and PSUs, sources in the LG office said.

The employees were hired as fellows, associate fellows, advisors, deputy advisors, specialists, senior research officers, and consultants.

The engagements were made by allegedly flouting the constitutional provisions of reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and OBCs.

The employees were engaged through the back door and did not have the required qualification or experience, the sources said.

It was observed that the provisions of reservations for SC/ST/OBC have to be followed in all temporary appointments lasting for 45 days or more.

In the case of the Delhi government, the temporary appointments were given for more than 45 days in all such cases which is an open denial of the rights of SC, ST, and OBC, the sources argued.
