Country needs to differentiate between 'Andolankari' and 'Andolanjeevi': Narendra Modi

New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi once again used his new political coinage ‘Aandolanjeevi’ (professional protesters) to target the Oppositions and certain group of protesters and said the country needs to differentiate them from 'Andolankari' (protesters).

Modi said he considers the farmers' protest as 'pure'.

"I consider the Kisan Andolan to be pure," he said while addressing the Lok Sabha.

" But, when Andolanjeevis hijack Pavitra Andolans, showcase photos of those jailed for serious offences, does it serve any purpose?" he said.

In the backdrop of the support to the farmers' protest by social activists, political groups and even international celebrities as well as teen climate activist Greta Thunberg, Modi on Monday said in the Rajya Sabha, "A new entity has come up in the country- 'Andolanjeevi'. They can be spotted wherever there is a protest, be it agitation by lawyers, students, or labourers, explicitly or implicitly."
