CM Neiphiu Rio launches Nagaland Covid -19 information app

Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio launched the Nagaland Covid-19 information app at the War Room, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima on Thursday.

Speaking at the launch event, Rio congratulated the Department of Information Technology & Communication for successfully developing and launching the much needed Nagaland Covid-19 information app and said that the App would greatly help the citizens in gathering accurate information related to Covid-19 in the state.

Rio however lamented on the fact that misinformation and false speculations is hampering the State’s fight against Covid especially the Vaccination Drive.

He said that with the launch of the app all required information related to Covid-19 would be easily accessible to all the citizens and would go a long way in dispelling any doubts that the general public might have.

He further stressed on the need to educate the public and said that the dissemination of proper and accurate data and information is vital in ensuring that the State successfully contains the Covid-19 situation. Rio concluded by saying that the State was at par with other states in the field of Information Technology and acknowledged the efforts of the War Room who have been working tirelessly for the past few months.

Rio also made an impromptu call to the Mon District Covid-19 helpline and talked with the personnel managing the Covid-19 crisis in the District regarding the overall Covid status there and asked them if they had any grievances which the Government can look into.

The Nagaland Covid-19 Information App is developed and maintained by the Department of Information Technology & Communication, Government of Nagaland, for the State Covid-19 War Room.

The main objective of the App is to provide Covid-19 information including hospital bed status to the citizens. Also contact information at all levels of management of Covid-19 in the State is provided to assist the citizen to quickly get help during times of emergencies.
