China has intensified development of military infrastructure on the Indian border: Reports

The consultancy said the movie suggests a shift in Beijing's approach to territorial disputes.

The consultancy said the movie is forcing New Delhi to rethink its national security posture.

"China is expanding and upgrading a large number of military facilities along its entire border with India as tensions continue to run high in the wake of the bloody clash between Indian and Chinese forces in June, followed by the reported exchange of gunfire in late August," Sim Tack, Belgium-based security and a military analyst with Stratfor, said.

"New Delhi has struggled to come to terms with these recent escalations, but the new strategic reality created by Beijing's permanent infrastructure drive will nonetheless force New Delhi to shape its future defense posture around long-term outlooks of China's growing capabilities in its border regions," it said.

Border conflicts are a permanent fixture of India-China relations, as the countries do not have a marked border but rather the Line of Actual Control, created after the 1962 war between the nations.

However, the tensions became more strained as a result of skirmishes between the countries' border forces starting in May.

The tension was further exacerbated by a violent clash between the two sides on 15 June at Galwan Valley in Ladakh in which 20 Indian soldiers and an unknown number of Chinese soldiers were killed.

In order to normalise the situation, the commanders of the regional forces, as well as diplomats from both sides, conducted a series of negotiations resulting in the troops of both countries returning to their initial positions.
