Change is coming, says BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty  after first phase of Bengal polls

Bishnupur/UNI: The turnout in the first of the eight-phase West Bengal Assembly election indicates that 'poriborton' (change) is imminent, said veteran Bollywood actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty.

Mithun, who held a roadshow here on Sunday in Bankura district of West Bengal, said, "The turnout recorded yesterday shows that 'poriborton' (change) is coming."

He appealed to the people to keep supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party and affirmed that the saffron party would change their deplorable condition.

Outlining that it is a democracy, Mithun said, "Don't beg for your rights, go and grab them."

“I am hopeful that the party will get a majority and form the government," he said.

The Bollywood icon joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata earlier this month.

Mithun hit the campaign trail for the BJP on Thursday. Starting from Saltora in Bankura, He was seen campaigning for BJP candidate

The Disco Dancer actor said he loves the outpour of supporters during the campaign.

"I am loving the love which I am getting. Definite chance of BJP [winning]," he said.

When asked the difference between stage concerts and political rallies, Mithun said one is for enjoyment and the other is for the nation.

The Bollywood actor said he would not be contesting.

"No, I am not contesting," Mithun added.
