BSP chief Mayawati expresses concern on pollution in UP

| @indiablooms | Nov 19, 2019, at 06:24 pm

Lucknow/UNI: Expressing concern over the state of pollution in Uttar Pradesh, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday said the government should immediately pay attention towards it, so that the problem can be resolved at the earliest.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, she posted, "Pollution is not only a dreaded issue for New Delhi but for the entire country, especially most cities of UP, a state with a huge population, are suffering from this problem. It is now very necessary to understand its root causes and pay proper attention towards it. It will be better if the government gives immediate and effective attention to it."

Further, the BSP honcho said that due to the government negligence, pollution has taken the form of a widespread public problem and people are forced to take to the streets against it.

Hence, a concrete policy and programme needs to be made and implemented strictly after having a discussion on the issue in Parliament, which will be in huge public interest, she added.
