BSF seizes 2kg kg heroin from India-Pakistan border

Jalandhar/UNI: Border Security Force officials thwarted an attempt of Pakistani smugglers to push four packets of contraband suspected to be heroin weighing 500 gm each from the Indo-Pak border.

A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier's Headquarter of the BSF said on Friday that the alert troops of the BSF challenged the mischievous persons after observing their activities in the area of responsibility of 124 Bn BSF in Abohar sector following which they ran towards the Pakistan Territory.

During a search of the area Sunday morning, the BSF troops seized four packets of contraband suspected to be heroin weighing two kgs. Earlier, the BSF had seized 9.630 kg of heroin only two days before on September 4.

Value of the heroin seized is said to be more than Rs 10 crore in the international market.

The BSF had seized 388.997 kg of heroin from the Punjab border till today during the current calendar year.
