Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 30 (UNI) A major train accident was averted after a few bogies of Netravati Express got detached from the engine near Pettah railway station here on Wednesday.

No loss of life or injuries was reported in the incident as there was no movement of other train on the track at that time.

A technical problem in the coupling system resulted in the incident, sources said.

Later, the loco pilot stopped the engine after moving a distance of three km from the Pettah station. The incident occurred after the train left the Central Station here at 0950 hrs.
