BJP to reach 3 crore people in next 10 days to clear misconception on CAA

New Delhi/IBNS: Faced with massive protests, some of which have been violent, over the amended citizenship law, the BJP on Saturday decided to connect with three crore people over the next 10 days to firefight the situation.

According to an NDTV report, the outreach program will include hundreds of rallies and 250 press conferences.

The effort will be focused on clearing the "misconceptions" about the citizenship Amendment Act, the report added.

The country is on the edge since last week as violent protests took place in various cities against the controversial CAA which will grant citizenship to Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh, Parsi but not Muslim refugees who came to India from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan before 2015.

In recent interviews to television channels as well as in Parliament, Union Home Minister Amit Shah no Indian Muslims will have to worry.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his election rallies in Jharkhand had said the opposition including Congress are fear-mongering over the CAA and misleading people.
