Kolkata/IBNS: After the second round of talks, leaders of the Left Front and Congress on Thursday announced that they had agreed on a seat-sharing formula for 193 out of the total 294 assembly seats for the upcoming West Bengal polls.

Following the meeting at West Bengal Congress headquarter, Bidhan Bhaban, state Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that of the 193 seats, Congress candidates will contest in 92 seats, and the Lefts will get the remaining 101 assembly seats.

"Earlier, after the first round of talks on the Left-Congress alliance, we had finalized seat-sharing for 77 seats and today, we have decided the sharing for 116 more assembly seats," Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury told the media.

Left Front chairman Biman Basu said that the seat-sharing for the remaining 101 assembly seats will be finalized very soon.

Meanwhile, Congress and the Left Front also announced to jointly hold a mega rally in Kolkata's Brigade Parade Ground on Feb 28 where Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be invited.
