Assam will not take more burden of Bangladeshi nationals: AASU

During a meeting with Assam Chief Minster, a delegation team of AASU led by its advisor Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharya, President Dipanka Kumar Nath and Secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi sought for protection of the indigenous people in the state.

“We had already taken huge burden of Bangladeshi nationals up to 1971. So there is no question for taking more burden by the state,” AASU advisor Dr Samujjal Bhattacharya said.

The students union delegation team had submitted a 14 numbers demand charter to the Assam CM.

The AASU team also urged the state government to take appropriate measures to protect the house of Music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika in Taliganj and the house of Lakshminath Bezbaruah in Chambalpur.

The students union also urged the state government to protect Madhupur Satra.
          
The Assam CM requested the AASU delegation to create an awareness among the people living in the fringe areas to help them to nurture the avowed objective of protecting the rhinos.

He also informed the AASU delegation that he would instruct the district administration of all the five districts to extend all possible help to the AASU delegation.
          
Sonowal also informed that the Government will hold a bilateral dialogue at the State level and a trilateral discussion at the Central level for implementation of the clauses of Assam Accord.

He also requested the AASU delegation to maintain a close vigil on the activities of the State Government so that the people of the State can take the benefits of a good and responsible government.
          
Media advisor to the Chief Minister Hrishikesh Goswami, Commissioner and Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Lohia were also present at the meeting.
