Assam :Ten-year-old girl commits suicide on being accused of stealing chocolate

Guwahati, Apr 4 (IBNS)  : In a shocking incident, a ten-year-old girl  committed suicide by hanging herself  after a shopkeeper accused her of stealing a chocolate (Kinder Joy) from his shop at Pandu area in Guwahati on Tuesday evening.

According to  reports, the shopkeeper also complained to the landlord of the house where the girl's family stayed. The landlord reportedly told the shopkeeper that he would inform the girl's mother once she was back home. The mother works as a maid in a nearby house.

Following this, the girl panicked and took the extreme step.

The family members of the deceased girl alleged that, the shopkeeper had slapped her.

The police have started an investigation into the incident.
