Assam govt to withdraw COVID-19 related curbs from Feb 15

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said the state government will withdraw all COVID-19 related curbs from the state from Feb 15 as the COVID-19 situation has improved in the state.

"There will be no curfew in the state from Feb 15. However, wearing a mask will be mandatory in public places. The COVID-19 situation in the state has improved.

"School board examinations, municipal elections, bye-poll to the Majuli assembly constituency will be held in the next two months,” Sarma said.

The Assam Chief Minister has appealed to the students who will appear in the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations to get COVID-19 vaccine before sitting in their examinations.

He also said that Guwahati Municipal Corporation elections and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council elections will be held in April along with municipal elections in the state.
