Assam govt. to enforce section 144 CrPC near all examination halls to curb malpractices in HSLC exam
To enforce section 144 CrPC during the examination period, the state government had already issued order to all district administration.
The HSLC examination, 2017 will be started from February 17 next in 855 centres of the state.
Assam education minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that, we have taken several measures for smooth conduct of HSLC, High Madrasa and Higher Secondary examination this year.
“It is mandatory to install CCTV in every examination centre and evaluation zone. Apart from it, all District Deputy Commissioners and Superintendent of Police will be involved in the entire examination process,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said, while interacting with top district administration and police officials through video conferencing.
The minister further said that, SEBA has introduced Optical Mark Reading (OMR) process in the examination first time.
“During the examination period, each Deputy Commissioner will be deployed a trust official other than the education department in every examination centre. If DC found any irregularities during the examination process, he would be powered to cancel the examination of the particular centre,” Sarma said.
The Assam minister also said that, any mobile phone’s use being strictly prohibited in the examination centre and if any irregularities found against teacher, then the state government will take action stern action against the violator.
According to the SEBA, a total of 3,91,212 candidates will appear in the HSLC and High Madrasa examination this year.
To smoothly conduct the examination process, SEBA has deployed 120 Zonal Supervising Officers, 1100 Supervising Officers, 35 Scrutinizers, 10,000 Examiners and set up 27 Evaluation Zones across the state.
Apart from the HSLC, High Madrasa examination, a total of 2,49,313 candidates will appear in the Higher Secondary examination in this year, which to be started from February 20 next.
