Guwahati/ibns: After they were denied party tickets to contest in the upcoming assembly polls in the state, two BJP MLAs in Assam resigned from the party.

Hojai MLA Shiladitya Dev and Silchar MLA Dilip Kumar Paul on Wednesday night had resigned from the party and sent their resignation letters to the Assam state BJP president.

Both MLAs alleged that conspiracies were hatched against them by the state BJP leaders.

Both MLAs said that they will contest in the coming election as independent candidates in the upcoming assembly polls.

Earlier on March 8, a BJP minister Sum Ronghang resigned from the party and joined Congress.
