Armed miscreants loot Rs 2 lakh from petrol pump in Assam, one injured

Guwahati, Oct 10 (IBNS): Armed miscreants looted Rs 2 lakh cash from an employee of a petrol pump after firing at him in Assam’s Nagaon district on Thursday.

The petrol pump employee named Raju Jain was injured in the firing and he was admitted at the hospital.

According to the reports, the incident took place at Kathiatoli area, where the employee of a Hindustan Petroleum (HP) petrol pump was coming from the petrol pump with Rs 2 lakh to deposit in the bank.

When the employee reached near the road, motorbike-borne miscreants fired upon the employee and fled from the area with a cash amount of Rs 2 lakh.

Following the incident, locals and other employees of the petrol pump rushed to the spot and immediately admitted the injured person at Nagaon civil hospital.

Later the injured person was referred to Guwahati Medical College hospital in serious condition.

Meanwhile, police have launched an operation to nab the armed miscreants.

“The injured person has been referred to Guwahati Medical College hospital. We have started an investigation and also launched operation. Hope we will able to nab the culprits soon,” Shankar Brata Raimedhi, SP of Nagaon district said.
