Anti-COVID-19 lockdown in Puducherry extended till July 15

Puducherry/UNI: The anti-COVID-19 lockdown in Puducherry has been extended till July 15 by giving more relaxations.

A government order in this regard said all cinema theatres, Multiplexes, shall remain closed for the public during the lockdown period and social, political and entertainment related gatherings remain strictly prohibited.

All government offices shall function as per the guidelines of the department of Personnel and Administrative reforms and all HODs were advised to ensure vaccination of the staff.

All shops, Commercial and business establishments will be open from 9 AM to 9 PM while vegetable and fruit shops shall function from 5 am to 9 pm.

All private offices will function from 9 AM to 6 PM abiding Covid appropriate behaviour and 100 percent vaccination of the staff should be ensured.

Restaurants and bar facilities within hotels, lodges and guest houses and standalone eateries shall be permitted to operate with 50 percent capacity up to 9 PM.

Only retail liquor shops including arrack vends will function from 9 AM to 9 PM and the excise department was advised to issue instructions for door delivery of liquor within the UT of Puducherry.

Goods transport shall be permitted all times and the private/Government public transport shall be permitted to operate till 9PM on all days.

All religious places would be open for public darshan till 9 PM.100 persons could participate in a marriage and 20 for a funeral.

Film and TV serial shootings are permitted with participation of 100 persons.

Petrol Bunks, ATMs, Telecommunication, Internet services would not have any time restrictions.

All were advised to strictly follow the Covid appropriate behaviour, the order said.
