Kolkata/IBNS: Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah will be on a two-day visit to West Bengal to take stock of the organisational preparation of the party ahead of the 2021 assembly elections, media reports said.

Yesterday evening, the party said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Jagat Prakash Nadda will make his second visit to West Bengal on November 6, his last visit being on October 19.

However, in a late night development, West Bengal BJP general secretary Sayantan Basu said Nadda's visit from November 6 stood cancelled, the reports added.

Shah is likely to visit Medinipur organisational district on November 5 and will meet party leaders in the state on the next day, Sayantan Basu said, adding that the complete schedule of Shah's visit is yet to be finalised, media reports informed.

Amit Shah will examine the various aspects of the party's organisational preparedness and strategy ahead of the West Bengal polls, BJP national general secretary and in-charge of Bengal Kailash Vijayvargiya said, media reports stated.

Most of the programmes will be indoors during Shah's visit and he may also hold a press conference in Kolkata, said Vijayvargiya.

During the visit, Amit Shah will hold a meeting with booth and district-level leaders along with chief strategisers of the party in West Bengal, Kailash Vijayvargiya and vice-president Mukul Roy, said the media reports.

Shah had visited West Bengal on March 1 last and this would be his first visit to the state amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
