Amid Indo-Pak tension over Pulwama, Pakistani women launch hashtag to say no to war
New Delhi/Islamabad, Feb 20 (IBNS): Amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan over the Pulwama attack, several Pakistani women have launched a hashtag on social media to say no to conflict.
Though Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan did not even condemn the Pulwama attack, which left over 40 Indian paramilitary personnel martyred last week, Sehyr Mirza, who claims to be an independent journalist and an Indo-Pak peace activist, condemned the terrorist activity and joined the #AntiHateChallenge on social media.
In a Facebook post, Mizra could be seen holding a placard stating, "I AM A PAKISTANI AND I CONDEMN PULWAMA TERRORIST ATTACK...."
She captioned the picture saying, "I won't trade humanity for patriotism"
Likewise several other women could be seen on Facebook holding placards stating they are not in favour of any war between the two South Asian countries, which got independence on Aug 14 and 15 of 1947 respectively.
The posts came at a time the two countries are having a bilateral tension along with a cry of several people for a revenge of the attack, which was carried out by Pakistani-based militant organisation, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said he gave full freedom to the Indian Army to retaliate.
In retaliation, the Indian Army had gunned down JeM chief Masood Azhar's aide Kamran, who is believed to be the mastermind of the Pulwama attack.
On Tuesday, Khan issued a warning to say, "If India begins a war, Pakistan won't hold back but retaliate. It is easy to start a war but not to end."
Responding to India's blame on Pakistan over the deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir, the Pakistani Prime Minister said he will take action if his neighbouring country can furnish proofs.
