Agra: Triple murder rocks Taj city

The criminals had tied the deceased-- a couple and their son-- with a rope and taped their mouth before killing them and trying to burn their bodies.

ADG Ajay Anand said here that the crime was detected in Nagla Kishanlal village. He confirmed that the bodies were tied with a rope while the criminals tried to burn them.

The valuables and other things from the house was missing but the police was yet to disclose the reason behind the crime.

The ADG said Ramveer (57) was running a grocery shop in front of his house. His wife Meera (55) and their son Bablu( 23) used to stay there.

Eye witnesses say that the grocery shop was open till 2330 hrs on Sunday but when it did not open at 0500 hrs on Monday, morning, the neighbors knocked at their doors and found smoke emanating from the house.

When the doors were broken, the bodies of Ramveer and his wife Meera were burning while his son was lying dead nearby. All the three were tied with ropes and their mouths taped.

The ADG and other senior officials rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the information and investigation was under.

However, the deceased Ramveer's brother Raghuveer, who stay nearby, claimed that is brother had no enmity with anyone and loot could be the reason behind the crime.

He also revealed that Ramveer used to keep all the cash of his shop in the house and recently, he had sold a land.

SSP Bablu Kumar said that police was investigating all the angles and preliminary investigation reveals that all the three have been strangled to death.

He said that the pipe of the LPG cylinder was open which seems that they tried to burn the entire house. Though the family members slept in different rooms as per the family members, but all the three bodies were found in one room.
