60-year-old man killed his own daughter-in-law in Assam's Diphu

Guwahati, Oct 4 (IBNS): A 60-year-old man allegedly killed his own daughter-in-law following a family quarrel in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.

The incident took place at Diphu in the hill district on Friday evening.

According to the reports, the accused person named Manuranjan Malakar killed his own daughter-in-law identified as 22-year-old Ritamoni Malakar by using sharp weapons at Bagmari Gang quarter area, Diphu.

A top official of Karbi Anglong district police said that the murder was triggered by a family quarrel and duo was quarrelling over household matter.

“When the 60-year-old man got angry, he attacked the lady with a machete multiple times. The lady died on spot,” the police officer said.

After committing the crime, the accused person had fled from the area and he is still absconding.

Meanwhile, the police recovered the dead body and sent it for postmortem.
