22 Nepali nationals detained close to Silguri while trying to cross border illegally

Siliguri/UNI: The Indian forces, guarding the international borders with Nepal, have detained 22 Nepali nationals while they were illegally crossing the border towards that country from West Bengal side, official sources said today.

They are basically the migrant workers, age between 18 and 30, had been engaged at a project at Matigara near here.

They have been detained by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) while attempting to cross Indian line at the border outpost of Panitani under Darjeeling district on Sunday evening.

The detained Nepali nationals would be produced before a local court for judicial process by the West Bengal police.
