NVIDIA to train 50,000 Infosys employees in AI technologies
Bengaluru: NVIDIA has announced its third significant collaboration in India this month, joining forces with leading IT firm Infosys to drive productivity improvements through generative AI applications and solutions for enterprises, reported Moneycontrol.
Infosys is establishing an NVIDIA Center of Excellence with plans to train and certify 50,000 employees in NVIDIA's AI technologies, it said.
As part of this partnership, Infosys will integrate NVIDIA's AI Enterprise ecosystem, including models, tools, runtimes, and GPU systems, into its AI-centric offering Topaz.
This integration will enable Infosys to develop user-friendly solutions for businesses looking to seamlessly incorporate generative AI into their operations. Infosys leverages the complete NVIDIA generative AI platform, encompassing both hardware and enterprise-level software, across its business functions to assist clients in building generative AI applications.
The collaboration will also cover digitalization applications, emphasizing the creation of solutions for enterprise scenarios involving 3D workflows, design collaboration, digital twinning, world simulation, and more.
The two companies are jointly working on AI-driven solutions in areas such as 5G, cybersecurity, and energy transition.
Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s CEO said that generative AI will drive the next wave of enterprise productivity gains.
“The NVIDIA AI Enterprise ecosystem is ramping quickly to provide the platform for generative AI. Together, NVIDIA and Infosys will create an expert workforce to help businesses use this platform to build custom applications and solutions,” he said.
Nandan Nilekani, Chairman and co-founder of Infosys, emphasized in a statement that the company is undergoing a transformation into an AI-centric organization to enhance its delivery of AI-powered services.
“Our clients are also looking at complex AI use cases that can drive significant business value across their entire value chain…Infosys Topaz offerings and solutions are complementary to NVIDIA’s core stack. By combining our strengths and training 50,000 of our workforce on NVIDIA AI technology, we are creating end-to-end industry-leading AI solutions that will help enterprises on their journey to become AI-first,” he added.
In September, when NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang was in India, the company announced collaborations with two of the largest Indian conglomerates, Reliance Industries and Tata Group.
In partnership with Reliance, NVIDIA said it would develop India’s own foundation large language model (LLM) trained on diverse languages, which are made for India.
The company along with NVIDIA will develop an advanced AI cloud infrastructure that is “secure, sustainable, and are deeply relevant to India's unique opportunities.”
The Tata Group is engaging with NVIDIA on three fronts. The chipmaker will build and process generative AI applications and upskill over six lakh employees of TCS, India’s biggest IT Services company, in AI.
The company will help Tata Motors deploy AI across design, styling, engineering, simulation testing and autonomous vehicle capabilities. Further, it will help Tata Communications build AI infrastructure.
