Dimapur/Nagaland: NIELIT Kohima organized a successful Entrepreneurship Development Program under the project 'Digital Intervention on Handloom and Handicraft Sector for Livelihood Enhancement of Artisans of NE States.'

The program, held at NIELIT's Extension Centre in Dimapur, witnessed a gathering of 100 participants eager to embrace modern techniques while preserving their rich heritage, Morung Express reports.

The training program not only equipped the artisans with digital design creation using computers and electronic jacquard weaving but also established a remarkable digital design bank for preserving traditional patterns.

By integrating digital tools with their craftsmanship, these skilled artisans are now poised to meet contemporary market demands and carve a brighter future for themselves and their craft in the competitive market.

The valedictory program on July 24th marked the culmination of their training, with participants receiving well-deserved certificates for their active participation and successful completion of the program.

Mughasheli Swu, one of the participants, shared his enthusiasm, stating, "The Entrepreneurship Development Program has been an eye-opening experience for me. I have gained valuable skills and insights that will undoubtedly contribute to the success of my venture in the handloom and handicraft industry."

With NIELIT Kohima's commitment and initiatives, the handloom weaving sector in Nagaland is poised to thrive, reflecting a perfect blend of tradition and technology.
