Google: Doodle celebrates cartoonist Mario Miranda's 90th birth anniversary

Mountain View, May 2 (IBNS) Google on Monday doodled to celebrate cartoonist Mario Miranda's 90th birth anniversary.

Miranda was born in 1926 in Daman, a Union Territory, then Portuguese India.

He is famous for depicting Goan villages and lives in his caricatures.

Miranda was awarded the Padma Shree in 1988, the Padma Bhushan in 2002 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2012, after his death a year earlier.

A colourful doodle is welcoming netizens when they are visiting Google homepage on Monday.
