Boys outshine girls in AssamHSLC examination

Guwahati: TheBoard of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) on Saturday declared the Class 10High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination results.

With a pass percentage of 64.80 in the Class 10 HSLC results, boys outperformed girls by a margin of 4.02 percent.

A total of 3,42,224 students appeared in this year’s HSLC examination of which 2,21,756 students passed in the examination.

48,278 students passed with first division marks with 77,850 in the second division and 95,829 in the third division.

Dhritiraj Bastav Kalita of Padum Pukhuri High School in Darrang district topped the examination with 595 marks.

Alangkrita Gautam Baruah of Salt Brook School in Dibrugarh secured second position with 594 marks.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal tweeted his congratulations to the students who passed in the examination.

Sonowal tweeted: “Heartiest congratulations to all my young friends who came out with flying colours in the HSLC & AHM Examinations 2020. My best wishes for a bright future ahead. Those who didn't get expected results should not lose hope & keep working hard. Success will definitely be yours.” 

On the other hand, Assam Education minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted – “Heartiest congratulations to Class X students on your results. Those who may not have done well, don't lose heart for success is sum of small efforts. Special compliments to parents and teachers for your patience & hard work. Wish you all a glorious future ahead.”
