Kolkata, April 18 (IBNS): The Bengal Chamber of Commerce celebrated Poila Baisakh (Bengali New Year) by felicitating cricketers of two generations, Jhulan Goswami and Sanjay Manjrekar, here on Monday.

At the event which was named as Different Strokes, Manjrekar, who is known for a his commentary and cricket analysis post retirement, was deciphered as a singer.

From Kishore Kumar's to Rabindranath Tagore's songs, several verses were on lips of the former Indian batsman.

When asked about the standard of fast bowling at the present time, Menjrekar said, “Cricket has changed from our time. It is now played in three formats and hence bowling technique has also changed."

On the other hand, pace bowler Goswami spoke about the future of women's cricket in the country.

"Mithali and Harmanpreet are doing very well and we as a team now would look to play well in the forthcoming Asia Cup," the former Indian skipper said.
