Video of Dutch PM Mark Rutte cleaning coffee dropped on Parliament floor goes viral, netizens welcome his gesture

Hague, June 6 (IBNS): A video, showcasing Dutch PM Mark Rutte cleaning the coffee he dropped in the country's Parliament, has gone viral.

Netizens have praised the PM for his humble gesture.

The video was shared by a Dutch diplomat on Twitter.

In the video, the PM could be seen cleaning the floor after he dropped a coffee cup on it.

Rutte took the mop from the cleaning staff and started cleaning the floor, triggering loud cheers.

Diplomat Cees Van Beek shared the video and captioned it as: "#Hollanda Prime Minister Mark Rutte, who spilled coffee on the floor today, cleared the floor with applause from the cleaning staff of the assembly."

Netizens welcome PM's gesture:

Internet users have been praising the PM for his gesture since the video went viral.

Journalist Anna Holligan tweeted: "Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte spills his coffee, takes mop from cleaner to wipe it up himself. Imagine all politicians were this humble/good humored https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RVq3qMln-ok … also, @MinPres needs a manbag #DenHaag."

One netizen, whose Twitter account is called as JB, said: " This is Dutch Prime Minister, dropped his coffee... You can see what he did after that.. If our PM had dropped coffee, he would have walked away like a Mian Saab.... Badshah Salamat tou Buccha car kay neechay maar Kay chalay gaye, ruke nahi."

Another Mona Kanwal posted: "Dutch PM #MarkRutte accidentally dropped his coffee but instead of waiting for help went ahead and swept the floor himself to clean the mess! Will the self entitled and arrogant politicians learn some humility from this?."

One netizen Muna AbuSulayman tweeted: "Dutch Prime Minister, drops his coffee, professionally wipes mess does not miss a corner.. What they say about men and House work is totally true? @markrutte."

Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir said: "Sometimes Prime Minister can do the job of a sweeper but not in our part of the world only Mark Rutte the Prime Minister of Netherlands can act as a sweeper I am impressed by his humbleness and that's why he is very popular in Dutch people."
