Washington, Feb 18 (IBNS): Jeremy Guy’s documentary feature PURDAH will be premiered at the Cinequest Film and VR Festival in San Jose California, running Feb 27 to Mar 11, media reports said.

The Cinequest Film Festival is an annual independent film festival held each March in San Jose, California.

PURDAH is about an independent young Muslim woman, Kaikasha Mirza, and her siblings -- elder sister Saba and younger sister Heena -- who want to follow their dreams and aspirations but face myriad challenges such as orthodox family mores, poverty, and public scrutiny.

Kaikasha Mirza manages to finally convince her parents to become a cricketer but has been warned by her parents that she will given away in marriage if she fails to become a professional cricketer within two years.

How the sisters tackle the challenges and if they are able to fulfill their  aspirations, remains to be seen.
