| @indiablooms | Feb 28, 2022, at 10:53 pm

Kyiv: As the Ukrainian delegation arrived at the border with Belarus for peace talks on Monday, Ukraine President and Prime Minister urged the European Union for its membership.

"We ask the European Union for Ukraine's immediate accession under a new special procedure" Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in video address as reported by the Kiev Independent.

"Ukrainians have long proved that we are an integral part of the European community. The time to put it down on paper has come. #Ukraine is applying for #EU membership under a special procedure. We are grateful to our partners for their support and quick decisions," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal tweeted.
