Two Canadian citizens went missing in Taiwan earthquake

Taipei/Ottawa, Feb 9 (IBNS): A Hong Kong couple with Canadian citizenship have gone missing in the Taiwan earthquake, that killed 10 people, media reports said.

The Canadians are among seven who are missing so far.

All the missing people are believed to be trapped in a hotel on the ground floors of the Yunmen Tsuiti building.

After the magnitude 6.0 quake struck 18.3 kilometers northeast of Hualien County hall at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers, an intensity level of 7 was felt in Hualien County for a full 70 seconds, causing multiple buildings to collapse, trapping many inside as they slept.

According to reports, five buildings have collapsed in the area.

The earthquake occurred on Tuesday.
