Trump sets shock 'Tuesday, 8 pm' deadline for Iran over Strait of Hormuz—War warning escalates

| @indiablooms | Apr 06, 2026, at 09:06 am

US President Donald Trump has set a self-imposed deadline of Tuesday at 8 PM (Eastern Time) for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Without sharing further details, Trump wrote on Truth Social: "Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!"

Trump warned of attacking the country's critical infrastructure if Iran did not follow the deadline.

He wrote: "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!"

In his expletive-filled post, Trump further said: "Open the F******’ Strait, you crazy b*******, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP."

Iran on Saturday dismissed the ultimatum, with officials describing Trump as “helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid,” saying the threats reflected desperation rather than strength.

‘Gates of Hell will open’

In a sharp response, General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters echoed Trump’s rhetoric, warning of severe consequences for any military action.

“The gates of hell will open for you,” he said, adding that any attack on Iran’s infrastructure would trigger “devastating and continuous” strikes on US military assets across the Middle East, as well as Israeli targets.
