Small plane crashes in US, several die

| @indiablooms | Mar 05, 2024, at 10:19 pm

Several people were killed after a single-engine plane crashed in Nashville in the southern U.S. state of Tennessee on Monday night, authorities said.

The pilot told the control tower at Nashville's John C. Tune Airport that the aircraft was experiencing engine and power failure and attempted to make an emergency landing when the plane crashed behind a Costco just off the Eastbound lanes of Interstate 40, according to an ABC News report.

A spokesperson for the Nashville Fire Department said the plane imploded on impact, which "was catastrophic and did not leave any survivors."
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are en route to investigate the incident, Nashville police spokesperson Don Aaron said at a press conference.

Authorities also do not yet know who was onboard.
