Bolivia/IBNS: Sex-ed teacher Maria Ines Peredo found herself in a difficult position with the parents whose wards study at the Minero High School after her request that students carry condoms filled with semen, as per media reports.

Maria has seeked forgiveness for the misunderstanding after facing the blame of corrupting young minds, as per media reports.

The parents stand against her and want her to be fired, as per a CNN report.

There was no compulsion on finishing the task, which was only a part of the sex-ed lecture, CNN reports.

Informing a local paper, Maria said, "I am a mother of a family with four small children and not a pervert."

The objective of such an unusual request was to determine for how long sperm can survive in a humid atmosphere, as per a CNN report.

The learning behind the task was to inform girls to stay away from the specified chemical if they wished to avoid pregnancy, according to the teacher.

Director for the Santa Cruz Special Forces to Fight Violence, Carlos Oporto told local media that the children at the Minero High School were undergoing psychological evaluation.

Maria, who is on the brink of loosing her job, has been suspended while the investigation continues.
