Pakistan International Airlines passengers protest violation of social distancing during flight

Islamabad/IBNS: Pakistan's national carrier Pakistan International Airlines recently earned the wrath of passengers when people found the airline not maintaining social distancing norms, which are needed to be maintained at this time of COVID-19 outbreak, while operating one of their international flights, media reports said.

A video of the entire episode has now gone viral on the social media.

People could be heard protesting inside the flight for allegedly not following the social distancing norms.

People also claimed that the national carrier was charging more.

"PIA charging 3000/4000 USD per person for taking them back to Pakistan," a source said.

"All norms of social distancing broken in the flight. No social distancing maintained. They were supposed to keep Middle seat vacant. But they booked all," added the source.

The PIA spokesperson, on the other hand, claimed that all safety measures were taken and the planes were disinfected. Passengers were also provided masks and gloves, reported Samaa.

“The tickets were overpriced because the flight had to come back from Canada empty,” he added.
