Pakistan: Authorities launch action against China salt provider

Nowshera: Different government departments in Pakistan have launched a joint action against the manufacturers of the China salt by seizing the product, media reports said.

Food Inspectors Waheedullah Yaseen and Mussawar Khan took the action at Janjalpura locality in Hakeemabad area of the Nowshera Cantt under the directives of Food Secretary Khushal Khan, Food Director Muhammad Zubair Khan and Deputy Commissioner Mir Raza Ozgan, reports The New International.

A huge amount of China salt was confiscated from the godown. The Food Department filed a complaint with the relevant police station for the registration of a case against the accused, the newspaper reported.

District Food Controller Sher Fayyaz told the newspaper that the sale, purchase and the use of China salt had already been banned due to its harmful effects.
