Pakistan aircraft reach Nepal with relief supplies

New Delhi, Apr 26 (IBNS) Two Pakistani C-130 aircraft carrying relief supplies reached earthquake-hit Nepal on Sunday, officials said.

"In line with the Prime Minister's directive, 2 Pakistani C-130 Aircraft landed in the morning today at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, carrying Medical Team of Doctors and Paramedics, 30-Bed Hospital, Medicines, Tents, Water, Dry Food, Search and Rescue Team with Equipment with the active collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan, the Embassies of Pakistan in Kathmandu and Nepal in Islamabad and the Nepalese Authorities," Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Sunday.

The Ambassador of Pakistan and other Embassy officials were present at the Airport to facilitate and extend logistical support to Pakistan Relief Assistance Team, the Ministry said.

Besides making efforts for the relief assistance to Nepal Government, the Embassy also reached out to the Pakistani Expatriate Community Members to extend them necessary support.

Two more Pakistani C-130 Aircraft with relief assistance are due to arrive in Kathmandu on 27 April 2015

The death toll following Saturday's devastating earthquake in Nepal crossed 2100 with the Himalayan country experiencing fresh quake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale on Sunday, triggering more panic across the nation.

According to the  United States Geological Survey, the aftershocks measured 6.7 in the Richter scale.
