Nepal: Bus mishap kills 20

Kathmandu, Aug 26 (IBNS): At least 20 people were killed as a bus, in which they were travelling, plunged 100 metres down into Trishuli River along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section in Chitwan district of Nepal on Friday, media reports said.

The mishap occurred on Friday at around 4:45 am.

The bus was on its way from Pokhara from Gaur in Rautahat district when the mishap occurred.

The chief of Chitwan District Police Office (DPO) Superintendent of Police (SP) Basanta Bahadur Kunwar was quoted as saying by The Himalayan Times that  the passenger bus Ga 1 Kha 3709 heading for Pokhara from Gaur in Rautahat district met with accident near kalikhola in Chandibhanjyang VDC in the district killing 20 passengers on the spot and injuring 17 others.
