Islamabad: A video has surfaced on the social media where the ruling PTI lawmakers are allegedly seen  receiving bribes before the Senate elections in 2018, media reports said.

The video surfaced online at a time when there is growing conflict between the Imran Khan government and the key opposition Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

In the video, stacks of currency can be seen sitting atop a table in front of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PTI MPAs. Current KP Law Minister Sultan Mohammad Khan and MPA Ubaid Mayar can be seen in the video as well, reports Geo News.

Former PPP MPA Mohammad Ali Bacha can be seen handing over the stacks to the PTI parliamentarians. PTI's Sultan Mohammad Khan can be seen receiving money in the video and keeping it in a bag, the news channel reported.

Sardar Idrees, another former MPA of the PTI, can also be seen taking money. Another former PTI MPA Meraj Humayun can be seen in the video, receiving the money and putting it in a bag as can another former MPA of the party, Dina Khan, reports Geo News.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights Sultan Muhammad has reportedly resigned from his position.

Reacting to the video which surfaced on Tuesday, where several PTI lawmakers could be seen allegedly receiving bribes before the Senate elections of 2018, Prime Minister Imran Khan instructed Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan to ask Sultan for his resignation, Geo reported.

According to CM Mahmood Khan, Sultan Muhammad's resignation has been duly accepted, the Pakistani news channel reported.

Imran Khan reacts:

PM Imran Khan reacted strongly on the episode and tweeted: "The videos showing the shameful way in which politicians buy & sell votes in Senate reflects the total destruction of the nation's morality by successive ruling elites as they drowned the nation in debt. Cycle of corruption & money laundering is a sordid tale of our pol elite."
