Landslide at Malaysian constructions site leaves three dead, search and rescue continues

George Town (Malaysia), Oct 21 (IBNS): A landslide at a construction site in Penang, Malaysia, has left three people dead and 11 missing, according to media reports on Saturday.

Thousands of tonnes of earth slid down from a cut slope at Lengkok Lembah Permai in Tanjung Bungah, George Town, at about 8.30am on Saturday, reported The Straits Times.

Search and rescue operations are on to check if more people are buried in the rubble.

According to local reports, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has proposed for a state inquiry into the incident.
