Dushanbe, July 31 (IBNS): The Islamic State has claimed Sunday's fatal attack on four foreign cyclists in Tajikistan, reports said.

The deceased have been identified by their nationality- two Americans, a Dutch and a Swiss.

They were hit by a car while cycling in Danghara district, 70 kilometres south-east of Dushanbe, the national capital.

The attack also injured three other tourists.

Police have killed two suspects and arrested four others in a special operation. A dented car, believed to have been used to execute the operation, was seized.

This is first attack claimed by the Islamic State in Tajikistan. However, the lack of proof has raised doubts.
