Fatal bear attacks in Western Canada have left visitors on high alert

Calgary, Sept 20 (IBNS): For the past couple of months’ bear attacks on humans have left outdoor enthusiasts on high alert in Western Canada.

On Sunday, a biker was attacked by a grizzly bear at British Columbia’s Akamina -Kishinena Provincial Park which borders Waterton Lakes National Park.

The man has been seriously injured and park rangers have transported him to a Lethbridge hospital.

In June this year, two bear attacks were reported in Alberta. A couple and a cyclist were attacked with serious injuries.

Although bikers, campers and hikers use extreme caution while travelling inside the forest trails, attacks do happen and this has left Parks Canada extremely vigilant.

The British Columbia Ministry of Environment is warning bikers about the attack and has temporarily closed the Forum Lake trail until further notice.
