Facebook removes 1.5 million videos of the New Zealand mosque attacks

New York, Mar 17 (IBNS): Social media giant Facebook on Sunday said in the past 24 hours 1.5 million videos globally of the New Zealand mosques attacks have been removed.

 

"In the first 24 hours we removed 1.5 million videos of the attack globally, of which over 1.2 million were blocked at upload," Facebook tweeted.

Gunman attacked two mosques in New Zealand's Christchurch city on Friday and killed at least 50 people.

The incident triggered worldwide condemnation.

The gunman was arrested.
