A video has emerged where a worker could be seen urinating into a tank of ingredients in China's Tsingtao beer factory.

The clip, which went viral recently on China’s microblogging site Weibo, shows a man in a uniform and a hard hat clambering into a container believed to hold raw ingredients for the beer and urinating inside, reported New York Post.

Meanwhile, Tsingtao Brewery, China’s second-largest beer producer, recently released a statement after the video went viral and said it contacted the police over the incident and an investigation was ongoing.

“Our company attaches high importance to the relevant video that emerged from Tsingtao Brewery No. 3 on October 19,” the beer maker said in a statement as quoted by South China Morning Post.

“We reported the incident to the police at the earliest opportunity, and public security organs are involved in the investigation," the company said.

“At present, the batch of malt in question has been completely sealed. The company continues to strengthen its management procedures and ensure product quality," the statement said.
