Canada Post strike: House passes back-to-work legislation

Ottawa, Nov 24 (IBNS): MPs have passed back-to-work legislation in the House of Commons to end the Canada Post strike, media reports said.

The bill was passed after a late night debate in the House.

New Democrats had staged a walkout.

Bill C-69 was passed by a vote of 166 to 43 in early morning on Saturday.

The workers will be forced to work if the bill receives the royal assent.

Canada Post had earlier warned that the strike has left it in a situation whether it can't guarantee timely delivery of a single parcel.
