Brexit: Boris Johnson quits as UK Foreign Secretary

London, July 9 (IBNS): Amid Brexit crisis, Boris Johnson has quit as Foreign Secretary of the UK, media reports said.

Brexit Secretary David Davis earlier in the day resigned from his position.

Johnson is currently the second minister to quit his post in the past couple of hours.

"His departure came shortly before Theresa May was due to address Parliament about her new Brexit plan, which has angered many Tory MPs," reported BBC.

On the other hand, Davis was appointed to the post in 2016.

As per BBC report,  in his resignation letter, Davis told May that "the current trend of policy and tactics" was making it "look less and less likely" that the UK would leave the customs union and single market.

Dominic Raab replaced him as the new Brexit Secretary.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said British PM Theresa May was 'incapable of delivering Brexit'.

"David Davis resigning at such a crucial time shows @Theresa_May has no authority left and is incapable of delivering Brexit. With her Government in chaos, if she clings on, it's clear she's more interested in hanging on for her own sake than serving the people of our country," Corbyn tweeted.

The UK is scheduled to leave the European Union on Mar 29.

However, both the sides have not reached an agreement on how trade will continue after the move is executed.
