Nepal quake: Jet Airways attempts to operate flights in and out of Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Apr 27 (IBNS): Due to relief efforts in Kathmandu in Nepal, there is a critical shortage of parking bays and resources for scheduled flights arriving at Kathmandu airport. As a result Monday's Jet Airways flight 9W 264 from Delhi to Kathmandu was diverted to Lucknow and had to return to Delhi.
Jet Airways has scheduled two more flights from Delhi to Kathmandu on Monday evening, subject to availability of landing clearances at Kathmandu airport. 
 
"We are trying our level best to ensure that we operate flights in and out of Kathmandu in the current scenario," an official statement said.
 
Since the tragic earthquake struck Nepal on Saturday, Jet Airways has flown nearly 500 people from Kathmandu back to India.
 
Jet Airways will offer guests the lowest fares available for travel from Kathmandu to Mumbai / Delhi on all fresh bookings created on ex Kathmandu flights for sale and  travel until 2nd May, 2015.
 
Meanwhile, Jet Airways will waive off all cancellation charges on confirmed tickets for travel to and from Kathmandu for any travel date in future.
 
Jet Airways will also waive off freight charges for shipment of relief material on board its flights to Kathmandu.
