Multiple interpretations of Byomkesh's exploits will be good for industry believes actor Jisshu Sengupta

"Since the audience wants to see Byomkesh Bakshi on screen, many directors are making films based on the stories of Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. It is happening and it is good for the industry. Had the different films not clicked at the box office, we could have seen the whole issue differently," said Jisshu, who is turning up as Byomkesh for the third Anjan Dutt film on the popular fictional sleuth, 'Byomkesh O Agnibaan'.

The popular actor was talking to IBNS after the premier of the film last week.

Asked how much he had changed ever since debuting as the sleuth in 'Byomkesh Bakshi' in 2015 and then in 'Byomkesh O Chiriyakhana' in 2016,  Jisshu said, "I haven't changed myself much as a character since the first film as Byomkesh. Since the first film I have remained the same Byomkesh Bakshi."
   
Asked if the character he portrayed remained within him throughout the shooting phase, Jisshu said it was not
so.
   
"My character does not live with me. I never take my character home. I do concentrate on my role only during
shoots," the actor said.
  
"In this film, we have brought Byomkesh out of the drawing room. This time the sleuth is more larger than
life. There are three distinct colour shades - black and white, red and blue, which helps in taking forward the story
line," he said. "We have merged two stories in the film and the narration goes back and forth."

Jisshu said Anjan Dutt and he have been cast together in a film by a prominent Bengali director but refused to divulge more citing contractual obligations.

"Anjan Dutt and I - both are part of the cast in the film and shooting is on. I can't divulge more," Jisshu, who
had also been cast in a previous Kamaleswar Mukherjee film with Anjan, said.
  
Coming to 'Byomkesh O Agnibaan', Anjan Dutt said, "This time I worked on a bigger canvas. There are edge of the seat action sequences, beautiful location and here I could more work on the musical side which has effects of jazz."

Music director Neel Dutt said, "The theme music of the film remains the same as in past films of Byomkesh but the settings have changed a little bit since from the time of 60s we now have set the backdrop in 70s."

Neel had done the musical score of five previous Byomkesh Bakshi films by father Anjan Dutt since 2010.
