Toronto/IBNS: Canadian singer-songwriter, Joni Mitchell, at 80, is set to make her Grammy Awards performance debut on Sunday.

An announcement was made by the Recording Academy in a news release Sunday, adding the nine-time Grammy winner to a star-studded performance lineup that includes Dua Lipa, Burna Boy, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott, U2, Luke Combs and Billy Joel.

She is nominated in the Best Folk Album category for her 2023 live album 'Joni Mitchell at Newport', which marks her surprise return after 20 years.

Mitchel also received its lifetime achievement award in 2002,

Mitchell became the first Canadian last year to collect the prestigious Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song since it was established in 2007.

Although due to her brain aneurysm in 2015, there had been doubt of her performing ever again, she made a triumphant return at the Newport Folk Festival and recorded the album for which she’s now nominated at this year’s Grammys.
